Turns out, keeping your youngsters away from peanuts may not prevent a peanut allergy, says a new study in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Doctors used to advise expecting mothers to avoid eating peanuts and to not introduce peanuts to their infants in order to avoid creating an allergy, but now researchers are considering this advice to be the reason for the noticeable increase in peanut allergies in the UK, Australia, and the U.S.
