Barbie b-nails Is High Tech Beauty

Filed under :
Ever heard of "beautronics"?  Neither had we.  Until today.  One of our first stops on the Consumer Electronics Show floor was at Mattel's booth where we got an education in the blending of beauty and electronics, Barbie style.

This cool new product won't be hitting store shelves until next fall but we're sure it's going to be on every little girl's (and maybe the big girls, too) wish list come holiday season '09.

The Barbie b-nails station is an injet printer that prints an image on your fingernail.  Choose from multiple pre-loaded images or upload your own.  The prints will come off when washed or you can preserve them for about a week by using a top-coat over once the printing is complete.

Mums the word on the price... we're guessing it's in the $120 to $150 range.

Check out the video below to see Lauren Dougherty of Mattel explain how it works.
